The notebook is really well designed and very reasonably priced. I used one of these notebooks when I was doing fieldwork for my PhD back in the 80s. It is still in good shape, testifying to durability. Customer service is also excellent and I am ordering two more before going on an academic field trip to Oregon.

I love these notebooks. The paper is nice, the cover is tough, and the binding is durable. These are a product where the small things make a big difference. The green lines on the paper, the crazy gold logo on the front, the blue edges; these are strong choices and in today’s notebook market distinctive choices.
I hope they keep making Alwych books for another hundred years!
This is almost a B6 in size, which I find the perfect size as a notebook for my work bag and office environment. B6 notebooks can be difficult to find and tend to be expensive, guess that’s the premium for rarity??? Height is the same at 7″ and it’s only 1/2 inch short on the width (B6 = 7×5, this is 7×4.5), close enough. I prefer the slightly smaller hardback Denbigh as a pocket notebook. The quality and price simply cannot be beaten. I’ll be back for more.
These notebooks are without equal. Understated and practical. I’ve been using them for years and they stand up well to being bundled into bags and being handled by mucky hands. There are a great deal of notebooks on the market which are overhyped and overpriced, but thankfully the Alwych notebook is as good today as it ever was. This is one of the few brands which I am loyal to and I look forward to buying many more in the future.
Love these notebooks as they are near enough (half-inch short on width) B6 in size. I prefer this size for office-based activities and fits in a work bag easily. This was a bulk order (8) to ensure I always have a stack to access. I will never go anywhere else.

Glad they are still available and better than before
I wanted another Alwych notebook to match the one (A38/140 Faint) that served me from 1967 to 1977 when I lived overseas in the Caribbean and Southeast Asia. This is the nearest currently available and although the cover now seems more ‘bendy’ than before, I am delighted to have it. The paper quality is a major plus point.

Nice note books. However not so good with some fountain pen inks as there is some bleed through. Good size flexible cover works well for me.
